  As was said by the directors, the movie is the continuation of Batman vs Superman Dawn of Justice movie released in 2016. Since then, Wonder woman 1 has been released to create a movie back story for the character - Diane Prince, who is set to play a major role in the upcoming movie after being given a limited role in BvS.

  At the very end of BvS, Bruce Wayne asked Diane to "find the others" (after Superman's death). Though its unofficial, but the others he was talking about are apparently Cyborg, The flash and Aquaman after viewing them with super powers in the Lexcorp Meta human Archive drive he cracked - the same drive he found out that Diane Prince possessed super powers.

  With Lex Luthor having tampered with the vast technology in the kryptonian ship, trouble is not far away. Doomsday's defeat was achieved, thanks a lot to Superman, but now he is no more...
